After the 1962 opening of 1789 Restaurant and The Tombs, the same Georgetown alumnus who acquired the Federal-style home that became the two establishments purchased a third and fourth property in the adjacent vicinity.

F Scott's He tried to find the right business formula for a successful venture, but failed until he decided to turn these two sites into an after-hours nightclub to complement the upscale 1789.
